chimney surround

I forgot to mention the bear pawprints in the dirt road we used to live on. A couple hundred feet further from town but still surrounded by houses. They were probably black bear prints but on the upper edge of size, though I didnapos;t bring a ruler and kneel in the mud to measure them. They are fading after several days, you can still clearly see where the claws dug in but the rest of the print is less clear.

With highs in the mid 40apos;s we are now grateful for the woodstove, an almost living presence in the corner of the living room, much better than the TV. BC still downloads 3 shows, but watching them is almost an intrusion, even with no ads and the ability to stop, back up etc.

Saturday BC went out for JB Weld epoxy to try to keep the handlebars of his new bike from rotating on him and slipping sideways. That is now accomplished and he is off to work, but he also noticed and went to the Tamarack Festival. We went together then on Sunday. Small of course, this is a small town, maybe 20 booths. It was also cold, and vehicles coming up from the south had thick snow. I saw snow myself on Wednesday, a little before and a little after noon.
I was tempted to take a photo of a solitary guy at the picnic table for the food concession, hunched over his food until you could not see his face, a cap under a hood on his head. It reminded me of the "carnival" on Craggy Island in the Father Ted series, the one with the ferris wheel being a park bench hoisted up and down by a crane.
